Hawks fall in five sets at McKendree

Anne Hellwege led the Hawks with 24 digs and holds the school record with 2,207 digs.

Box Score McKendree rallied to win the last two sets in posting a 3-2 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois.

The Bearcats won the fifth set, 15-11, as the Hawks made six hitting errors. McKendree won the first set, 25-23. Rockhurst proceeded to win the next two sets, 25-19 and 25-17, while the Bearcats won the fourth set, 25-21.

Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks with 15 kills and 20 digs. Karli Reichert collected a team-high 16 kills. Grace Carter finished with 10 kills, 40 assists and 18 digs. Emily Matio added 10 kills with a .529 hitting percentage.

Anne Hellwege posted a team-high 24 digs and now holds the school record with 2,207 career digs. Dani Prusha tallied 13 assists and nine digs. Kalie Arnold added 13 digs.

The Hawks (18-6, 7-4 GLVC) host Ottawa on Tuesday night.
