Rockhurst sophomore defender Luca Mastrantonio has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Mastrantonio played 168 minutes on the backline in two league shutout wins over McKendree (3-0) and Southern Indiana (1-0). He helped hold McKendree to zero shots on goal and allowed only three versus Southern Indiana.

Mastrantonio assisted on the game-winning goal over Southern Indiana via a long-range free kick. This is his first career Defensive Player of the Week award.
