Hawks' winning streak at home stops at 38

Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks with 15 kills.

Box Score Rockhurst suffered its first conference loss of the season in falling to McKendree, 3-2, Friday at Mason-Halpin Field House. The loss ended the Hawks' home winning streak at 38 in a row.

The 25th-ranked Hawks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set. Rockhurst won the third set, 25-16, and ended the fourth set on a 6-0 run for a dramatic 26-24 victory.

Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks with 15 kills. Mattie Gray posted 14 kills and five blocks. Morgan Rietzke tallied eight kills and 10 digs.

Kalie Arnold collected a team-high 18 digs. Anne Hellwege added 17 digs. Lily Thornberg collected 28 assists and 14 digs. Grace Carter totaled 14 assists and six kills.

The Hawks (8-4, 2-1 GLVC) host Maryville on Saturday, September 24.
