Rockhurst wins conference opener at Bellarmine

Anne Hellwege led the Hawks with 24 digs.

Box Score Rockhurst opened conference play on a winning note with a 3-1 victory over Bellarmine Friday night in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Hawks won the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-13, before dropping the third set, 25-17. Rockhurst wrapped up the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 14 kills and 15 points. Mattie Gray posted 11 kills and 12.5 points. Holli Hogge added eight kills and five blocks.

Anne Hellwege collected a team-high 24 digs. Morgan Rietzke and Kalie Arnold tallied 21 and 14 digs, respectively. Lily Thornberg and Grace Carter combined for 35 assists.

The Hawks (7-3, 1-0 GLVC) play at Southern Indiana on Saturday, September 17.
