Hawks split final two matches in Maryville

Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks with 34 kills in two matches on Saturday.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Morgan Rietzke combined for 34 kills as Rockhurst split two matches on the second day of the Green and Gold Challenge Saturday in Maryville, Missouri.

Rietzke posted 16 kills with a .305 hitting percentage to lead the Hawks to a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist. Alyssa Woodman collected 14 kills. Mattie Gray added 13 kills with a .417 hitting percentage. Anne Hellwege tallied a team-high 20 digs. Kalie Arnold and Lily Thornberg combined for 27 digs.

Rietzke paced the Hawks with 18 kills and 12 digs in a 3-2 loss to host Northwest Missouri State. The Hawks, who led 2-1 after three sets, lost the fifth set, 15-13. Gray posted 15 kills and five blocks. Karli Reichert added 10 kills. Hellwege led Rockhurst with 18 digs. Arnold and Thornberg had 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

The 24th-ranked Hawks (5-3) will host Benedictine on Tuesday night.
