The Rockhurst women's basketball team will be making its first appearance in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Championship Tournament. The seventh-seeded Hawks will take on second-seeded Drury on Thursday (March 3) in a 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal game at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
GLVC Tournament History: Rockhurst is making its second appearance in the GLVC Championship Tournament. The Hawks have compiled a 1-1 overall record in GLVC Tournament competition. Rockhurst defeated Wisconsin-Parkside, 73-62, at home on Sunday for its first-ever victory in the GLVC Tournament. Rockhurst lost at Missouri-St. Louis, 72-41, in a first-round game in the 2014 GLVC Tournament.
2015-16 Record:Â Rockhurst currently has a 15-12 overall record and was 7-11 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference during regular-season action en route to finishing fourth in the GLVC West Division.
Rockhurst vs. Drury:Â Rockhurst and 10th-ranked Drury will be meeting each other for the second time this season. Drury won the first meeting, 82-64, at Rockhurst on January 21. Drury leads the all-time series 30-1. The Lady Panthers have posted 30 consecutive wins in the series since the Hawks won the first-ever meeting, 72-69, in overtime in 2001 at Rockhurst.

Coach Park: Head coach Larry Park is in his seventh season at Rockhurst. Park holds a record of 60-125 (.323) at Rockhurst. He has guided the Hawks to two of the last three GLVC Tournaments. Park has coached on the collegiate level for the past 32 years. He was an assistant coach for the Rockhurst men's program from 1996-2009.
Mary Dineen:Â The junior guard from Omaha, Nebraska, ranks third in scoring in the GLVC (18.6 per game). She also ranks second in 3-point field goals made (2.85), third in free throw percentage (87.3), sixth in 3-point field goals percentage (45.3) and 15th in assists (3.0) in the conference. Nationally, she ranks 33rd in scoring, 13th in 3-point field goals made, 13th in 3-point field goal percentage and 21st in free throw percentage. Dineen ranks seventh in career scoring at Rockhurst with 1,248 career points. She scored a season-high 30 points in the Hawks' GLVC Tournament win over UW-Parkside on Sunday.
Lauren Meyers:Â The senior forward from Omaha, Nebraska, ranks 15th in scoring (12.4), 12th in rebounding (6.3) and eighth in blocked shots (1.15) in the GLVC. Meyers ranks 11th in career scoring (1,111) and 10th in career rebounding (529) at Rockhurst.
Jillian Myers:Â The sophomore guard from Fort Smith, Arkansas, leads the GLVC and ranks fifth in the country in steals (3.4). She also averages 6.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Myers ranks sixth in assists and second in assist/turnover ratio in the GLVC.
2015-16 RU Roster:Â Rockhurst's 2015-16 active roster includes two seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and five freshman. All but one member of the team are from Nebraska (5), Missouri (3) and Kansas (3). The other member is from Arkansas.
Strong Freshman Class: Rockhurst features five freshmen on its roster, led by starters Marisa Lowe and Kaci German. Lowe is averaging 10.3 points and ranks in the top 10 in the GLVC in 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goal percentage. The five frosh have combined for 520 points, 193 rebounds, 83 assists, 37 steals and 17 blocks this year.
Three-Point Shooters:Â The Hawks lead the GLVC in 3-point field goals made (9.4) and rank sixth in the nation from beyond the 3-point line. Eight Rockhurst players currently have double figures in 3-point field goals made. Mary Dineen and Marisa Lowe both rank among the top 3-point shooters in the GLVC.
41st Season: The 2015-16 season represents Rockhurst's 41st season of women's basketball. The Hawks own an all-time record of 529-531 (.499). Since the program's inception in 1975, the Hawks have qualified six times for the NAIA national tournament from 1990-98 and registered 19 winning seasons.
GLVC Award Recipients:Â Two players from Rockhurst placed two players on the All-GLVC teams. Mary Dineen earned first-team honors, while Lauren Meyers was named to the third team. Jillian Myers was selected the GLVC Defensive Player of the Year.
Academic All-American:Â Mary Dineen was chosen to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-American Second Team. Dineen is a nursing major with a 3.93 cumulative grade point average.
