Box Score Top-seeded Rockhurst defeated seventh-seeded Indianapolis in penalty kicks, 4-3, to capture its sixth Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Sunday at Michael Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
Rockhurst has now won four of the past five GLVC Men's Soccer Championships and is a perfect 6-0 in GLVC Championship games since 2005. The Hawks also won GLVC title games at home in 2008, 2012 and 2015, in addition to winning the 2005 GLVC title in St. Louis and the 2013 GLVC crown in Quincy, Ill.

Rockhurst (16-2-2) and Indianapolis (10-5-5) battled to a 1-1 tie after two overtime periods. Rockhurst made four of its five penalty kicks.

Ben McDonald each connected on their PK shots for the Hawks. Indianapolis missed its last two penalty kicks to secure the GLVC title for Rockhurst.
Indianpolis took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute on a shot by Ben Rohder near the goal off a corner kick. Rockhurst tied the score in the 43rd minute on a 22-yard shot by freshman
Sean Michel.
Both teams finished with 14 shots.
Gianluca Bottoni and Michel led the Hawks with four shots. Feldmann stopped two Indy shots.
