Hawks fall in five sets to No. 19 Lewis

Box Score Rockhurst suffered its second home loss of the season, falling in five sets to 19th-ranked Lewis Saturday Mason-Halpin Field House. The 25th-ranked Hawks remain in first place in the GLVC West Division with an 11-2 league record.

Lewis rallied from a 9-1 deficit to win the fourth set, 25-17, and came back to win the fifth set, 15-10. After dropping the first set 25-20, Rockhurst won the second and third sets, 25-17 and 27-25, to take a 2-1 lead.

Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks with 14 kills and 14 digs. Mattie Gray and Alyssa Woodman posted 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Mary Rolf and Karli Reichert combined for 14 kills.

Anne Hellwege tallied a team-high 19 digs. Kalie Arnold and Lily Thornberg collected 16 and 12 digs, respectively. Thornberg (25) and Grace Carter (18) combined for 43 assists.

The Hawks (21-5) next play at Saint Joseph's on Friday, November 4.
