Rockhurst University will host the Rockhurst Volleyball Classic on Friday (Sept. 11) and Saturday (Sept. 12). Eight matches will be played each day on two courts: Mason-Halpin Field and the RU Convocation Center.

Eight teams from eight different states will be in this year's tournament: Missouri (Rockhurst), Kansas (Pittsburg State), Nebraska (Wayne State), Oklahoma (Oklahoma Baptist), Minnesota (Winona State), Illinois (McKendree), Arkansas (Henderson State) and Tennessee (Christian Brothers).
 
The Hawks are coming off a 3-1 record at the SpringHill Suites Invitational in Anchorage, Alaska, including a 3-0 win over fifth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney. Rockhurst moved up from 23rd to 17th in this week's AVCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll. The Hawks will face Christian Brothers and fifth-ranked Wayne State on Friday, and Henderson State and Pittsburg State on Saturday.
