Box Score Wisconsin-Parkside shut down Rockhurst's outside shooting in posting a 70-51 victory over the Hawks Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Rockhurst was held to one three-pointer in 13 attempts while shooting 29 percent from the field on 18-of-62 shooting. The Rangers closed the first half on a 14-2 run to take a 33-24 halftime lead. An 18-9 run gave Parkside a 51-33 lead in the second half.
Lauren Meyers led the Hawks with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Mary Dineen and
Becca Strobbe combined for 17 points.
Jillian Myers finished with seven points and two steals.
Parkside (17-4, 10-2 GLVC) made 29-of-58 field goals (50.0 percent) and 8-of-11 free throws (72.7 percent). Gaby Bronson paced the Rangers with 20 points and 12 assists.
The Hawks, 8-12 and 2-10 in the GLVC, host Lewis on Saturday, Feb. 7.
