Box Score Rockhurst could not overcome an early goal explosion by Truman State in suffering its first loss of the season. The Bulldogs scored three goals in four minutes to upset the sixth-ranked Hawks 3-1 Friday in Kirksville, Mo.
Truman State took advantage of a red card issued to Rockhurst goalkeeper
Logan Feldmann in the 11th minute. The Bulldogs scored off an indirect kick in the box on the first play after the red card.
Rockhurst tied the score 49 seconds later on a goal by defender
Nick Caruso off a corner kick from
Drew Douglas. The Bulldogs came back to tally two goals in the next three minutes. Truman scored on a rebound shot and added a penalty kick goal to take a two-goal advantage.
Rockhurst outshot the Bulldogs, 9-7.
Adam Michel led the Hawks with two shots.
The Hawks, 6-1-1 and 6-1 in the GLVC, play at GLVC co-leader Quincy on Sunday.
