Hawks cruise to 5-0 win in home opener

Box Score Rockhurst scored four goals in less than 15 minutes in the second half in cruising to a 5-0 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside in the Hawks' home opener Friday night at RU's Bourke Field.

Michael Panarisi led the offense with two goals. His first goal came in the 13th minute, giving the Hawks a 1-0 halftime lead. Panarisi opened the second-half scoring with a 15-yard shot in the 57th minute.

Freshman Adam Michel scored his first goal of the season to widen the lead to 3-0 with just over 30 minutes left in the game. He also assisted on both of Panarisi's goals. Evan Craig and Eric Moore tallied the Hawks' final two goals.

The Hawks outshot Parkside 16-2. Claudio Romano and Moore led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Craig, Ben McDonald, Brian O'Neal and Austin Tierney each finished with an assist.

Rockhurst (3-1, 3-0 GLVC) hosts Lewis on Sunday, Sept. 21.
