Box Score Illinois Springfield held off a vigorous Rockhurst attack in the second half to edge the Hawks 2-1 Friday night in Springfield, Ill.

Rockhurst fell behind 2-0 in the first 37 minutes of the game on goals by midfielder Dylan Stockman. Freshman forward Claudio Romano put the Hawks on the board with his first goal of the season in the 44th minute with an assist from Brian O'Neal.

The Hawks outshot Springfield, 21-9. Adam Michel led the Hawks with eight shots. Michael Panarisi and Mitch Moncada added three shots apiece. Senior goalkeeper Stefano Radio finished with four saves.

Rockhurst (6-4, 6-3 GLVC) next plays at Southern Indiana on Sunday.
