The Rockhurst men's soccer team hosts a key Great Lakes Valley Conference match Friday night when the 10th-ranked Quincy Hawks travel to Kansas City. The contest will be featured on NSCAATV.com as the NCAA Division II Game of the Week.
Presented by Tourbeau Sports Group, the National Game of the Week highlights select NCAA Division I, II and III games every week during the regular season. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) launched its new online media program, NSCAATV.com, last year.
Quincy enters the game riding a nine-game winning streak and is currently the second ranked team in the Midwest Region. Quincy has shut out seven of its nine opponents while outscoring its foes 28-4.
Rockhurst (5-2, 5-1 GLVC) is currently tied for second place with Missouri-St. Louis in the GLVC standings and ranked fifth in the Midwest Region. Freshman midfielder
Adam Michel leads the Hawks with eight points.
Friday's game will be the 30th meeting all-time between Rockhurst and Quincy dating back to the 1965 season. Rockhurst, which won both meetings at Quincy last year by 2-0 scores, holds a 14-12-3 advantage in the series.
