Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Rockhurst Hawks closed out the opening weekend of the season with a 4-0 record in the Pittsburg State Classic. Rockhurst swept past Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern in a pair of 3-0 victories on Saturday after winning two matches on Friday.

Alyssa Arnold led the Hawks with nine kills and 16 digs against Pittsburg State. Katie Loescher also collected nine kills. Morgan Rietzke posted eight kills and 10 digs. Emily Ready added eight kills and five blocks. Whitney Kostal finished with 13 digs and 35 assists.

In the win over Missouri Southern, Loescher had a team-high 10 kills with a .667 hitting percentage. Ready totaled nine kills and a .583 hitting percentage. Rietzke added eight kills. Victoria Mahl and Kostal led the Hawks in digs (11) and assists (32).

The Hawks return to action on Thursday against Findlay (Ohio) in the Findlay Classic.
