Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Rockhurst Hawks opened the 2013 volleyball season with a pair of wins in the Pittsburg State Classic Friday in Pittsburg, Kan. Rockhurst posted 3-0 wins over Missouri Western (25-22, 25-20, 25-16) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (25-16, 25-14, 25-20) while combining for a .297 hitting percentage.

Freshman outside hitter Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks in kills in both victories. She collected 13 kills in her first collegiate match against Missouri Western. She added 14 kills and nine digs versus Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Sophomore Katie Loescher collected 17 kills with a .361 hitting percentage. Sophomore Alyssa Arnold combined for 13 kills and 18 digs. Senior libero Victoria Mahl paced the Hawks with 27 digs on the day. Sophomore setter Whitney Kostal collected 65 assists.

The Hawks, 2-0, face Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern on Saturday in Pittsburg.
