Box Score Katie Loescher and Alyssa Arnold combined for 24 kills to power Rockhurst to a 3-1 victory over Southern Indiana in a Great Lakes Valley Conference opener Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks won the first set 25-22 and dropped the second set 25-22. Rockhurst won the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-12. The Hawks posted 52 kills with a .162 hitting percentage and collected 11 team blocks.

Arnold posted 12 kills and 12 digs. Loescher added 12 kills and eight blocks. Victoria Mahl had a team-high 16 digs. Whitney Kostal totaled 45 assists and 11 digs. Morgan Rietzke finished with nine kills and 13 digs. Maggie Hummel added seven kills and five blocks.

The Hawks, 7-2 and 1-0 in the GLVC, host Bellarmine on Sunday at 1 p.m.
