No. 16 Hawks hold on for 2-1 win at Truman State

Box Score The Rockhurst men's soccer team held on for a 2-1 win at Truman State to remain unbeaten in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 6-0-1 record.

Senior forward Mark Magee scored in the 22nd minute and senior defender Oussie Gueye gave the 16th-ranked Hawks a 2-0 lead with his first goal of the season in the 53rd minute. Truman State cut Rockhurst's lead in half with a goal in the 60th minute.

Magee notched his sixth goal of the season with assists from George Skevington and Jon Schreiber. Gueye found the nets from 23 yards out off a pass from Sean Verbanic.

Rockhurst posted 12 shots, while Truman collected nine shots. Magee led the Hawks with four shots and two shots on goal. Senior keeper Ryan Bass made three saves.

The Hawks, 7-1-1, play at Quincy at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The game can be viewed on www.nscaatv.com.
