No. 9 Hawks fall in overtime to No. 16 Indianapolis

Box Score Rockhurst suffered its third loss of the season at home, falling to 16th-ranked Indianapolis 1-0 Friday night at RU's Bourke Field. The loss drops the ninth-ranked Hawks to third place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 9-2-2 record.

The Greyhounds scored the winning goal with 4:38 left in the first overtime. Reid Strain's shot from 10 yards out was deflected by Rockhurst keeper Ryan Bass and rolled into the net. Strain was given a yellow card after taking off his jersey following his winning shot. Indy is now tied with Quincy for first place in the GLVC.

Rockhurst outshot the Greyhounds 19-19. Paolo Scoppola led the Hawks with eight shots. Mark Magee came off the bench to supply three shots. Bass finished with four saves.

The Hawks, 10-3-2 overall, will host Saint Joseph's on Senior Day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
