Rockhurst moves into first place with win at Lewis

Box Score Rockhurst moved back into first place in the GLVC with a 2-0 victory over fifth-ranked Lewis Friday night in Romeoville, Ill. The Hawks now lead the conference with a 9-1-1 record.

Senior defender Jon Schreiber gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with a goal in the11th minute. George Skevington and Paul Dean assisted on Schreiber's third goal of the season.

Nick Caruso scored on a header in the box in the 79th minute for the Hawks' second goal. Caruso's header came off a corner kick from Paolo Scoppola.

Rockhurst outshot Lewis 6-5. Senior keeper Ryan Bass made three saves as he collected his eighth shutout of the season.

The Hawks, 10-2-1 overall, play at Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m.
