Box Score The eighth-ranked Rockhurst men's soccer team collected 21 shots on the way to a 2-0 victory over Maryville on Friday at RU's Bourke Field.

Rockhurst took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute with the help of an own goal. A Mark Magee cross into the box from the far right side was kicked into the net by a Maryville defender. Sean Verbanic scored in the second half on a touch shot from four yards out in the 50th minute. Paolo Scoppola and Lucas De Rossi assisted on the goal.

Magee led the Hawks with six shots. Nick McDonald added three shots. Senior keeper Ryan Bass posted two saves in picking up with seventh shutout of the season.

The Hawks, 9-1-1 and 8-0-1, host Missouri-St. Louis at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
