Jamie McDonald

Jamie McDonald was hired as the head coach for the Rockhurst men’s and women’s tennis programs on Jan. 22, 2021.

McDonald guided both the men and women to the NCAA Tournament in 2025. The women captured their first GLVC Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 in Florida in 2025. He was named the GLVC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

In his first full year with the Hawks, both teams found success on the court and in the classroom, as the men's and women's programs were named ITA All-Academic Teams. Additionally, both squads had wins over ranked teams and competed in the GLVC Tournament. Highlights included a Men's ITA ranking of No. 28 in the country (highest in over a decade) and senior Valentine Limauge being named to the All-GLVC Women's Tennis Team.

McDonald graduated from Denison University with a double major in psychology and political science in 2018. He was a three-time All-Conference honoree and team captain in his senior year. He was also named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete Team four years in a row.

A native of Kansas City, McDonald was a team captain and played on three Kansas state championship tennis teams at Shawnee Mission East High School.

McDonald previously served as a volunteer assistant coach at Denison University and head coach at Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri.
