Antonio Lorenzo Zamora is entering his first season as the graduate assistant coach at Rockhurst in the fall of 2021.
Antonio’s current role involves player development, scouting, recruiting, film, practice planning, logistics, operations, and social media management for the program.
Prior to coaching at Rockhurst, Antonio was a four-year lead student manager at the University of San Diego where he pioneered the program’s first-ever legacy student manager guide handbook for future basketball managers. While at USD, Antonio earned his baccalaureate degree in Finance with a minor in Leadership Studies in 2021 and was awarded the Outstanding Contributions to the Entire Campus Through Involvement Student Affairs Award in the 2019-20 academic year. He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Rockhurst.
As an intern for Lamont Smith Basketball Academy (LSBA), Antonio served as a personal trainer and assistant coach for LSBA’s 14U, 13U, and 12U club teams under legendary coach Lamont Smith in Newport, California.
Every off-season and summer, Antonio works basketball camps at universities across the nation such as USD, NMSU, Rice University, etc. He also serves his community as a personal skills developer in New Mexico and California incorporating life lessons and leadership concepts into every training session.
The Albuquerque born, Las Cruces made native, was a two-year team captain at Onate High School where he led his team to two Final Fours in the New Mexico State Tournament and was awarded All-District Team in the 2016-17 season and The Holiday Hoops Classic All Tournament MVP in 2017. Antonio began his coaching career his first summer back from college winning a tournament championship with the Las Cruces High School freshman in the Labor Day Classic which sparked his passion for coaching and developing young leaders through the sport of basketball.
Antonio is the eldest son of Larry and Sabrina Zamora alongside his three siblings Makayla, Lorena and Joaquin.
