Coach Gary Haarmann enters his seventh season with the Hawks. He graduated from Avila University in 1995 and is in the Avila Athletics Hall of Fame. At Avila, he was a four-year letter winner from 1991-95. He earned numerous awards for his efforts.

He was Honorable Mention All-District in 1992 and first team All-District in 1993 and 1994. In addition, he was the Avila College Baseball Team Golden Glove Award winner in 1993 and was named to the first team of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference in 1995. In 1994 and 1995, he was first team All-Region and was named Honorable Mention All-American in 1994.

After his graduation, Coach Haarmann was the assistant baseball coach at Avila form 1995-00. He served as the head coach at Longivew (Mo.) Community College.
