Goals by Bridget Herweck, Jazmin Martinez Rangel and Caitlyn Smith led the Hawks to a 3-1 win over Fort Hays State on Sunday afternoon in Kearney, Nebraska.
The Tigers scored first with a goal in the sixth minute. Herweck leveled the match at one in the 27th minute to the low center of the net.
Martinez Rangel's goal gave RU the lead in the 39th minute, scoring in the lower left of the net. Smith's goal was in the 81st minute from Julia Witt.
Smith led Rockhurst with four shots (three on goal). Witt took three shots (one on goal). Martinez Rangel tallied two shots, with both on goal.
Sydney Schnarr recorded five saves.
Rockhurst (1-0-1) faces Emporia State on Wednesday in Emporia, Kansas at 4 p.m.
