Hawks sweep doubleheader at Truman

Eva Fulk and Emily Berry led the Hawks to a 7-0 victory over Truman State in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday in Kirksville, Missouri. Claire Tipton and Kaylee Pugh's four RBI lifted the Hawks to a 5-3 win in game two. Avery Huffman picked up the win in both games and the Hawks have won five straight.

Game 1: RU 7, TSU 0
RU recorded two runs in the fifth and five in the seventh.
  • Fulk was 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.
  • Berry went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Mya Bristow collected two RBI.
  • Taylor Sedam and Berry each doubled.
  • Huffman (12-8) earned her 15th complete game of the year and her second shutout. She allowed just four hits and struck out nine.
Game 2: RU 5, TSU 3
The Hawks scored one in the third and four in the fourth.
  • Claire Tipton had a pinch-hit, two-RBI double in the fourth. 
  • Emma Reeves was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Kaylee Pugh went 1-for-2 with her third home run of the season and two RBI.
  • Huffman (13-8) allowed three earned runs on six hits and struck out four batters.
Rockhurst (23-16, 10-8 GLVC) faces William Jewell on Saturday at noon at Loyola Park.
