Strong finish pushes Miners past Hawks

Missouri S&T scored 27 points in the fourth quarter in pulling away for a 73-58 victory over Rockhurst Thursday in Rolla, Missouri.

The Hawks took a 42-38 lead late in the third quarter on two free throws from Macie Conway. The Miners closed the period on an 8-2 run to take a 46-44 lead in the fourth period.

S&T held Rockhurst to four field goals and 14 points in the final 10 minutes.

Tori Miller led the Hawks with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Miller made four-of-eight field goals and eight-of-10 free throws.

Conway collected 15 points, three rebounds and three steals. Lauren Sandstrom tallied 12 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
