The Rockhurst baseball team remains unbeaten after sweeping a doubleheader from Bemidji State, 15-7 and 10-6, Wednesday at Bourke Field.
The Hawks combined for 26 hits and eight stolen bases. They scored multiple runs in seven innings.
Game 1: RU 15, Bemidji State 7
Rockhurst rallied to score seven runs in the fourth inning to take an 11-5 lead. The Hawks added four runs in the sixth.
Dakota Hanna went 4-for-4 at the plate while scoring two runs and driving in two runs. Michael Laudando drove in three runs while posting three hits and scoring two runs.
Michael Novak collected three hits, two RBI and scored two runs. Colton Wemhoff and Gustavo Leon both drove in two runs.
Brendan Rodis (2-0) allowed two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
Game 2: RU 10, Bemidji State 6
Rockhurst jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Hawks scored four runs in the first two innings and scored four times in the fourth.
Hanna hit a two-run double in the first. Afton Koch and Laudando added run-scoring singles in the second. Laudando tripled home two runs in the fourth.
Laudando went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBI. Koch had two hits and drove in two runs. Kaden Jeffries posted two RBI.
Freshman Meade Rutherford (1-0) collected his first collegiate win. He held the Beavers to three runs on four hits over 4.2 innings. Archer Nolen got the last two outs to get his first save of the season.
The Hawks (5-0) and Bemidji State (0-6)Â play another doubleheader at noon on Thursday.
