Rockhurst Women's Swimming & Diving opened its 2026-27 season Saturday (Oct. 3) at Omaha, highlighted by a pair of third-place finishes.
Paige Sheridan led the Hawks in the pool, placing third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:06.94. Sheridan also finished fifth in the 200 freestyle in 1:57.37.
On the boards, Shelbie Holdcroft posted Rockhurst's other top-three finish, taking third in the 3-meter dive with 225.98 points. She added a fourth-place finish in the 1-meter competition with 231.38 points.
Liza Engelbrecht turned in a strong opening meet with three fourth-place finishes. She clocked a 1:00.99 in the 100 individual medley, 26.71 in the 50 butterfly and 58.34 in the 100 butterfly.
Reese Moore added a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.62, while the Hawks finished fourth in both the 200 medley relay (1:49.26) and 400 freestyle relay (3:40.40).
The Hawks fell 236-43 but turned in several strong performances throughout the meet. Rockhurst returns to action in a couple of weeks when the Hawks travel to St. Louis, Missouri, to take on the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
