Late run lifts Upper Iowa past Hawks

Upper Iowa scored 10 unanswered points down the stretch to pull away for a 73-60 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 12-9 lead in the first quarter. Upper Iowa went on a 23-8 run to take a 32-20 lead with 4:44 left in the first half and took a 40-32 lead into halftime.

Tori Miller led the Hawks with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. She scored 12 of the Hawks' 32 first-half points.

Keeley Steele posted 14 points on five-of-nine shooting from the field and was three-for-three at the foul line.

Macie Conway scored 12 points to become the 16th member of the 1,000-point club at Rockhurst. The senior guard connected on 10-of-18 free throws. She also claimed five rebounds and four assists.
