Four Hawks named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

The Rockhurst men's golf team received the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The Hawks posted a 3.468 team GPA and placed 12 men's golfers on the GLVC Academic All-Conference list in 2024-25. 

Ben Elgas, David Schilp, Ashton Vinton and Mike Wolski were named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for Division II All-America Scholar status, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically, participate in at least 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumula­tive grade point average of 3.20.

Elgas, a three-time All-America Scholar, averaged 76.8 strokes over 28 rounds. The senior from Leawood, Kansas had four Top 25 finishes.

Schilp, a three-time All-America Scholar, led the team with a 74.0 stroke average over 30 rounds. The senior from St. Louis, Missouri posted nine top 25 finishes.

Vinton averaged 76.9 strokes over 24 rounds. The junior from Springfield, Missouri placed in the top 25 in two events.

Wolski averaged 76.2 strokes over 30 rounds. The junior from Lancaster, New York placed in the top 25 in four events.
