Grace Claney shot a 76 in the second round

Grace Claney shot a 76 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Regional Tuesday at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Michigan.

Claney posted a one-over-par 36 on the back nine, highlighted by a two-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole. She began the day with a three-over-par 40 on the front nine that included a 25-foot birdie putt on the second hole.

"She putted the ball really well today and hit a few more greens. That was the main difference," said Rockhurst golf coach Brian Moeller of Claney's improved play after Monday's first round.

Claney, who opened with an 87 in the first round, shot an 87 in Wednesday's final round. She tied for 79th place with a 54-hole score of 250 in the 98-player field.
