Hawks fall one game short of GLVC Tournament

Rockhurst ended the 2025 baseball season with a disappointing 5-4 loss to William Jewell Saturday in Liberty, Missouri.

The Hawks (25-23) fell one game short of the GLVC Tournament with a 15-17 league mark.

Jewell scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to deny the Hawks' shot at postseason play. The Cardinals tied the game with a single and brought home the winning run on a fielder's choice grounder to second base.

The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead. Afton Koch collected an RBI single and Matthew Brimacombe walked with the bases loaded.

Michael Laudando led the Hawks with three hits. Patrick Wind added two hits to the nine-hit attack. Brimacombe scored two runs with one hit, one hit by pitch, one RBI and one stolen base.

Jake Canent allowed three runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts over 7.1 innings.
