Hawks split doubleheader with 5-2 win over Jennies

A three-run pinch-hit home run by Claire Long led Rockhurst to a 5-2 win over Central Missouri in game two of a Tuesday softball doubleheader in Warrensburg, Missouri. The Jennies won the firt game, 4-3, after a three-run Rockhurst rally in the top of the seventh.

Game Two: Rockhurst 5, Central Missouri 2
The Hawks scored three in the fourth from Long's second home run of the season and added two in the seventh.
  • Eight different Hawks recorded a hit, and five different Hawks scored a run.
  • Eva Fulk recorded a team-leading three hits and recorded her 21st stolen base of the year.
  • Anna Stephen picked up her first win of the season and Avery Huffman collected her second save of the season.
Game One: Central Missouri 4, Rockhurst 3
The Jennies scored two in the first and two in the sixth that preceded the Rockhurst rally in the seventh.
  • Jayla Pierce hit her fourth home run of the season as a pinch-hitter, beginning the three-run rally.
  • Jazmyne Moreno stole her ninth base of the season and later scored a run.
  • Six different Hawks collected a hit, including an RBI single by McKenna Lester.
