Hawks drop pair at Southwest Baptist

Rockhurst Softball dropped two one-run games to Southwest Baptist, 4-3 and 3-2, on Sunday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Game One: Southwest Baptist 4, Rockhurst 3
The Bearcats scored three runs in the first inning and one run in the third. 
  • Claire Tipton homered in the third. 
  • Kerstyn Finch hit a two-run home run in the seventh, scoring Avery Huffman.
  • Huffman pitched her second complete game in as many days, allowing one earned run on five hits and striking out 10.
Game Two: Southwest Baptist 3, Rockhurst 2
Southwest Baptist scored once in the third and two in the fourth.
  • Tipton doubled in the first, scoring Eva Fulk.
  • Mya Bristow had an RBI double in the fourth that scored Jayla Pierce.
  • Pierce also recorded a double. Fulk led the Hawks with two hits.
