Rockhurst sweeps Colorado Mesa, 4-0

The Rockhurst women's tennis team defeated Colorado Mesa, 4-0, on Friday and fell to 16th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0, Saturday at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center in Kearney, Nebraska.

Ella Coleman won her No. 1 singles match, 6-1 and 6-1, and teamed up with Zuzanna Szmyd to win No. 1 doubles, 6-1, against Colorado Mesa. Sofia Valdespino won her No. 2 singles in two sets and Szmyd won in No. 3 singles in a third set tie-breaker.

In the Kearney match, Coleman fell in two sets, 6-4 and 6-3. Coleman and Szmyd won their No. 1 doubles match, 6-3.

Rockhurst (3-2) will host Newman on Friday at the Northland Racquet Club.
