Lantz, Smith named to D2CCA All-Region First Team

Anna Lantz and Caitlyn Smith were named to the D2CCA All-Region First Team.
Senior forward Anna Lantz and junior midfielder Caitlyn Smith were selected to the Women's Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Lantz earned D2CCA All-Region First Team honors in 2023 and 2024, and was a second team awardee in 2022.

This season, Lantz was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, becoming just the second player to ever win the honor twice. She was also named to the All-GLVC First Team, earning the honor all four years of her career.

Lantz ended her Rockhurst career as the all-time leader in a career goals (50) and tied the sngle season goals record (17). 

Smith earned D2CCA All-Region First Team and ALL-GLVC First Team honors for the first time in her career. She played in all 18 matches and was second on the team in goals (eight) and points (18).

The GLVC led the region with 11 selections, followed by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with nine and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with six.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences within the Midwest Region select­ed the All-Region teams. A total of 26 student-athletes representing 14 different institutions filled out the two teams. Those selected to the first team will now move onto consideration for the All-American ballot.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
