Lantz breaks school record for goals; Hawks clinch GLVC tourney berth

Anna Lantz scored three goals while breaking the school record for career goals in leading Rockhurst to a 5-0 victory over Lincoln Sunday on Senior Day at Bourke Field.

With the win, the Hawks clinched their fourth straight GLVC Tournament appearance. Rockhurst, 8-5-4 overall, finished sixth in the GLVC at 7-4-3. The Hawks will face No. 3 seed Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday, Nov. 9.

Lantz scored her first goal on a penalty kick in the ninth minute. She broke the school record for career goals (previously held by Taylor Skala Sares) with her second goal in the 18th minute, with an assist from Quinn Conroy.

Lantz's third goal and 50th career goal was assisted by Kaitlyn Hobart in the 29th minute. Lantz also tied the single-season school record for goals with 17.


Kaitlyn Smith began the scoring for the Hawks, recording her eighth goal of the season in the eighth minute. Maya Wallace capped the scoring with her second goal of the season in the 46th minute, assisted by Lantz.

Lantz led the Hawks with seven shots (four on goal). Smith notched four shots. Alexis Cates (two on goal), Lizzo Rosenthal (one on goal) and Jacie Tottleben (one on goal) each had three shots.

The Hawks took 27 shots (13 on goal). Kayce Cooper tallied three saves to earn her second consecutive shutout.
