Hawks tie Miners on late penalty kick

The Rockhurst women moved one step closer to earning a berth in the GLVC Tournament with a 1-1 tie against Missouri S&T Friday night at Bourke Field.

Anna Lantz converted on a penalty kick goal in the 85th minute to tie the score. It was Lantz's 14th goal of the season and the 47th of her career, putting her just one behind Taylor (Skala) Sares for the program's all-time goals record.

Lantz led the Hawks with five shots. Maya Wallace took three shots (one on goal). Julia Witt and Lexi Matzke each collected a shot on goal. Madison Mertzlufft posted four saves.

The Hawks (7-6-4, 6-4-3 GLVC) recorded 12 shots and four shots on goal. The Miners (7-6-3, 5-5-3 GLVC) tallied 13 shots and five shots on goal. S&T scored its goal in the 72nd minute.

Rockhurst wraps up the regular season at noon Sunday against Lincoln.
