Cates, Lantz lead Hawks to 2-0 win

Second-half goals by Alexis Cates and Anna Lantz led the Rockhurst Hawks to a 2-0 victory over Southwest Baptist on Friday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Cates scored her second goal of the season in the 76th minute with an assist from Lantz. Just over a minute later, Lantz notched her 13th goal of the season.

Caitlyn Smith led the Hawks with five shots (four on goal). Lantz collected four shots (two on goal). Lizzo Rosenthal and Julia Witt each recorded two shots.

Madison Mertzlufft notched two saves and earned her first career shutout.

Rockhurst finished with 17 shots (eight on goal). Southwest Baptist collected three shots.

The Hawks (7-4-3, 6-3-2 GLVC) travel to Springfield, Missouri to face Drury on Sunday at noon.
