Free throws lift Hawks to 73-59 win over Southwest Baptist

The Rockhurst women made their last 19 free throws in posting a 73-59 victory over Southwest Baptist Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 25-13 lead after the first period and led 36-23 at halftime. The Bearcats rallied in the second half and cut Rockhurst's lead to 59-56 with 3:46 left to play.

The Hawks closed the game on a 14-3 run with all of their points coming at the foul line. Rockhurst shot 85.3 percent (27-of-32) on free throws, while the Bearcats missed 18 of 39 free throws.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 19 points while sinking 13-of-16 free throws. Sullivan also paced the Hawks with 11 rebounds and five assists.

Macie Conway scored 18 points on five-of-10 shooting from the field. Rebeca Garcia tallied 11 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks.
