Rockhurst opens road trip at Upper Iowa

The Rockhurst women's basketball team travels to Iowa and Illinois this week for a pair of important conference games. The Hawks meet Upper Iowa at 5 p.m. Thursday and face Lewis at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Hawks (5-10, 3-6 GLVC) are coming off a 63-50 victory over Illinois Springfield on Saturday. Senior center Rebeca Garcia ranks second in blocked shots and ninth in rebounding in the GLVC.

Upper Iowa (7-8, 4-5 GLVC) has lost four of its last five games. The Hawks defeated the Peacocks, 73-57, last year in Kansas City and hold a 4-2 lead in the all-time series.

Lewis (13-2, 7-1 GLVC) fell at Truman State on Saturday to snap a 12-game winning streak. The Flyers defeated the Hawks last year at Lewis, 80-55, and lead the all-time series, 17-2.
