Quick start leads Hawks to 63-50 victory

Outside shooting and offensive rebounding led the Rockhurst women to a 63-50 victory over Illinois Springfield Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks connected on 10 three-point field goals and scored 21 second-chance points to break a four-game losing streak.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game and led 38-21 at halftime. The Hawks improved their lead to 50-26 with 3:46 left in the third quarter.

Rebeca Garcia led the Hawks with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks. Macie Conway scored 12 points on four-of-five 3-point field goals.

Aubrey Treadwell finished with nine points, five rebounds and three assists. Clare Diener added eight points and six rebounds.
