Missouri Western scored three second-half goals to defeat Rockhurst, 3-1, on Tuesday night in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Rockhurst took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute after Elle Kimball's second goal of the season landed in the lower left corner of the goal. Julia Witt provided the assist, as Rockhurst took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Griffons (4-0-1) answered with a goal in the 51st minute to tie the score at 1-1. Missouri Western took the lead during the 68th minute and five minutes later, added the final goal of the night.

Rockhurst took eight shots during tonight's match, four in each half. Elizabeth Mertzlufft led the Hawks with three shots.

Taylor James recorded four saves with three in the first half and one in the second half.

The Hawks (2-3) resume conference play on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri.
