Late rally leads Hawks to 4-1 win at Truman

Rockhurst scored four runs on three hits in the sixth inning to defeat Truman State, 4-1, in the second game of a GLVC softball doubleheader Saturday in Kirksville, Missouri.

Maya Gallagher gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead with a two-run triple in the sixth. Gallagher then scored on a passed ball and Jayla Pierce added an RBI single.

Anna Newcomer (3-6) held the Bulldogs to one run on two hits in 7.0 innings. She struck out four and walked four.

Truman State won the first game, 1-0, with an unearned run in the fourth inning. The Bulldogs held Rockhurst to four hits.
 
Avery Huffman (5-9) allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts over 6.0 innings. Gallagher reached base twice on a single and a walk.

The Hawks (9-19, 4-10 GLVC) moved Sunday's games at Upper Iowa to Monday afternoon.
