Men fall 4-3 at Drury and Southwest Baptist

The Rockhurst men's tennis team opened conference play with a pair of 4-3 setbacks on the road last weekend at 20th-ranked Drury on Friday and at Southwest Baptist on Saturday.

Semyon Tsyrenov won his No. 2 singles match at Drury, 7-6, 6-2, while Louis Keiner fell in three sets in No. 1 singles. Agustin Cortes won in three sets in No. 4 singles at Drury. Cortes and Tsyrenov teamed up to win in No. 2 doubles at Drury, 6-2. Joe Harris and Alex Tikhonov captured their No. 3 doubles match, 6-3, at Drury.

Tikhonov, Cortes and Diego Schtulmann each won in two sets in No. 3-4-5 singles at SBU. Cortes and Tsyrevov won their No. 2 doubles match, 6-3, at SBU.

The Hawks (17-8, 0-2 GLVC) host Quincy on Friday.
