Women end regular season with loss at home

The Rockhurst women dropped just its second home game of the season on Senior Day, falling to the Maryville Saints 85-60, Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (15-11, 12-10 GLVC) earned the sixth seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and will face third-seeded Drury at 2:15 p.m. Friday at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

Maryville jumped out to a 25-15 lead while hitting five 3-pointers. The Saints finished with 10 3-pointers and outrebounded the Hawks, 55-38.

Ali Kamies led the Hawks with 20 points, three assists and two steals. Macie Conway tallied 10 points and three assists. Freshman Alivia McCulla posted a team-high nine rebounds and blocked two shots.

Rockhurst shot 32.9 percent from the field (24-of-73) and 22.2 percent from behind the 3-point line (six-of-27).

Eight seniors were honored on Saturday: Addison Bent, Michele Origliasso, Sophie Leinfelder, Kaitlyn Kennedy, Lani Thompson, Allison McFarren, Ella Wedergren and Haley Wiskur.

Maryville (18-10, 15-7 GLVC) made 28-of-69 field goals (40.6) and 19-of-30 from the foul line (63.3 percent). Antoinette Mussorici led the Saints with 18 points.
