Balanced attack leads Hawks to 80-55 win

A balanced scoring attack with 14 players connecting on field goals led Rockhurst to an 80-55 victory over Missouri S&T Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The win improves the Hawks to 15-10 overall and is sixth place in the GLVC with a 12-9 record with one game left in the regular season.

The Hawks jumped out to a 22-14 lead after the first period and led 49-23 at halftime. Rockhurst scored 27 points off turnovers.

Akili Felici led the Hawks with 13 points and three 3-pointers in 15 minutes. Ella Campbell scored 12 points on four 3-pointers in 17 minutes.

Keegan Sullivan finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Ali Kamies and Sophie Leinfelder combined for 15 points, four assists and four steals.

Rockhurst shot 41.1 percent from the field (30-of-73) and 30.3 percent from behind the 3-point line (10-of-33).

S&T (8-21, 5-16 GLVC) made 18-of-54 field goals (33.3 percent) and 16-of-26 from the foul line (61.5 percent). Morgan Luebbering led the Miners with 13 points.

The Hawks host Maryville on Senior Day Saturday, March 2.
