William Woods rallies for 4-3 win over Hawks

William Woods rallied to post a 4-3 victory over the Rockhurst men's tennis team Saturday at the Northland Racquet Club in North Kansas City, Missouri.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches. Louis Keiner and Josef Truhlar won No. 1 doubles by a 6-4 score. Agustin Cortes and Semyon Tsyrenov collected a 7-6 (7-5) win in No. 2 doubles. Alex Tikhonov and Gustavo Gil captured No. 3 doubles, 6-4.

William Woods won four of the six singles matches. Tsyrenov won in No. 2 singles in three sets over Zinovii Nahirniak. Cortes posted a 6-4, 6-0 win over in No. 5 singles over Andres De Los Rois Kolejewska.

The Hawks (2-3) next play at Maryville on Friday.
