The Rockhurst baseball team swept a doubleheader from Bemidji State, 10-7 and 10-8, on Saturday afternoon at Loyola Park to improve their record to 7-2.
Game One: Rockhurst 10, Bemidji State 7
The Hawks scored seven runs in the second to take a 7-3 lead. After the Beavers tied the score, Rockhurst scored one run in the fourth and two more in the sixth.
Game Two: Rockhurst 10, Bemidji State 8
The Hawks jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the second inning. Bemidji State rallied with two runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth.
- Laudando went 2-for-2 with a two-run single in the second and an RBI double in the third.
- Michael Novak posted two hits, including a run-scoring double in the second.
- Luke Feucht and Avery Garmon both drove in two runs.
- Brendan Rodis (2-0) allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts over 4.0 innings. Jake Canent picked up his second save.
The Hawks (7-2) close out the four-game series on Sunday afternoon against Bemidji State.
